There is a word in aikido that must be remembered at all times and that is “Makoto” which translates as, honesty truth, sincerity, reality.

Focusing On What Matters Most
Can we name out the most valuable thing in our life ?
Sozan, a Chinese Zen master, was asked by a student, "What is the most valuable thing in the world?" The master replied: "The head of a dead cat." "Why is the head of a dead cat the most valuable thing in the world?" inquired the student. Sozan replied: "Because no one can name its price." The things that matter to us, only matter to us. In the beginning, middle and end, we are under our own power and thus choose what is valuable to us.
So what we can do is to put a few words to a list on what is imortant to us like harmony, respect, good company during the practise, get prepared to the time and situation when tough individuals required....
